YogĀlamba offers inclusive, affordable and body-positive classes for all people and all bodies. Mindful yoga, meditation and breathwork have a meaningful impact on mental, emotional and physical health. We believe that these simple practices must be easily accessible.

The sanskrit term Yoga योग means “union” or “to join”. It conveys the balanced alliance between body, mind and spirit, which is established through mindfulness and breath. Further, yoga encourages a unification of oneself with one's surroundings and the world at large.

Ālamba आलम्ब means “that on which one leans or rests, depends on”, as well as “support, asylum”. As a group of LGBTQIA2+ teachers, we value all identities and hold an open, safe space for our communities. By donating 20% of our monthly profits to social, environmental and queer initiatives, we are joining the practice of personal health with the care of others and the planet.

Situated within the zen studio Tension in the heart of the Village of Montreal (Tio'tia:ke), YogĀlamba offers in person* and virtual classes accessible all over the world. Our classes are open to all and are perfect for shibari enthusiasts wanting to prepare their body and mind for a safe, enjoyable rope practice. Our teachers adapt each practice according to participants’ needs and requests and are especially attentive to mindfulness, breathing and appropriate alignment. Whether you're a curious beginner looking to try something new, an experienced yogi wishing to further your physical and/or spiritual practice, or someone in between, you’ve come to the right place.

* Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and related government regulations, YogĀlamba at Tension is taking place entirely ONLINE until further notice.

Sebastien first encountered yoga as a young boy while training for figure skating, and was immediately drawn into the newly discovered type of practice. While he is notorious for dabbling in many activities, yoga has always been one of his most grounding spaces. He decided to deepen his practice by completing his teacher training in 2017, and has been teaching ever since.
Leading classes in Vinyasa (Flow), Hatha, and Yin, Sebastien encourages people to find intention and fulfillment in their body and mind, regardless of the pace at which they live.
