In Level 1, Students who continue coming to classes will deepen their understanding of the ties taught, and eventually learn all the steps to basic harnesses, after which they can continue to level 2, if they wish to learn how to suspend their partner.
Every Wednesday evening, doors open at 6:00, and the class starts at 6:30 with a half hour of supervised practice to get warmed up. Formal instruction goes from 7:00 to 9:00, the class is adapted so that everyone learns at their own pace. Students can then practice under supervision until 9:30.
The specific techniques students learn in level 1 include a complete suspension-friendly 3-rope boxtie (Takate-Kote) and other more simple ties, as well as ideas and exercises to practice communicating and playing with their partner as they tie. Even when teaching patterns, a lot of emphasis is put on connection and emotions.
The price is $45 per couple for 1 class, or $100 per couple for three classes (don’t have to be consecutive). You don’t need to come with the same person for every class but you need someone to tie with.
One Saturday a month, we also give a double-format level 1 class especially convenient for those who can't make it on Wednesdays. Take a look at our calendar to see when the next one is!
